Diversity of flora for bees

Dominican Republic

A variety of flora will be planted along the roads, ditches and edges of the banana plantations of the BANAMIEL Group partners, in order to protect the bees and beneficial insects that are threatened in these areas.

The project will:

• Provide a safe habitat for bees.
• Increase the amount and diversity of flora around banana farms.
• Train collaborators and producers on the usability, cultivation and dissemination of the plants.
• Raise awareness of the importance of bees and their needs for the agricultural sector.
