Carbon and water footprint measurement

Azuabana personnel have been trained in carbon and water footprint measurement by learning how to use the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) platform. The carbon and water footprint of the company’s banana production was calculated, which will contribute to a better use of water resources.

The project helped raise awareness among producers about the impact of banana production and identify measures to reduce negative environmental impacts. Based on this study, a nursery was built to plant trees and ground cover.
