More than 140 small banana producers in the border area between the Dominican Republic and Haiti will carry out a project to produce bananas for the domestic market on their more than 500 hectares of organic farms. The initiative seeks to use the fruit that is not distributed abroad to add value, create employment and increase the income of the partners.

This project contributes to:

• The Ensuring of the financial sustainability of organic banana production in this border area.
• The Offering of a healthy and organic product to the local consumer.
