Production of biostimulants for pineapple cultivation

The company Piñas Cultivadas de Costa Rica is the winner of the Ideas Competition of the Del Campo al Plato Programme.

The project consists of producing microalgae, which will later be applied as substances that contribute to the growth of the pineapple crop (bio-stimulants).

This type of biostimulants are an excellent opportunity to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity on the farms due to

• Reducing the amount of synthetic agrochemicals.
• Reduces the carbon footprint in the production chain.
• Improving water and soil health.
